A vibrant and easy to make Beef Stir Fry with fresh vegetables that brings the flavors of your favorite Asian bistro to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams (1 lb) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce (divided)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (divided)
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (red, yellow, or green)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and prep the vegetables. Wash all vegetables thoroughly and slice the bell pepper, broccoli florets, carrots, and snap peas into bite-sized pieces. Don’t forget to mince the garlic and ginger fresh to preserve their robust flavors!
  2. Marinate the beef. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, half the minced garlic, and half the minced ginger. Mix well to coat the beef and let it marinate for 30 minutes to enhance the flavor and tenderness.
  3. Sear the beef. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook until it is nicely seared and browned, about 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside to prevent overcooking.
  4. Sauté garlic and ginger. In the same skillet, add the remaining garlic and ginger, sauté briefly until fragrant. The kitchen will smell incredible!
  5. Stir-fry the vegetables. Add the bell pepper, broccoli, carrots, and snap peas. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender-crisp, maintaining a slight crunch.
  6. Combine beef and vegetables. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and the tablespoon of sesame oil. Toss everything together to evenly coat with the sauce and heat through for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Garnish and serve. Remove from heat and transfer the stir fry to plates. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

Thinly slice the beef against the grain to ensure maximum tenderness. Prep all ingredients before starting for smoother cooking.
