A crispy, tender shrimp dish tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce, perfect for appetizers or main courses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Combine flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a deep pan.
  4. Dredge the marinated shrimp in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  5. Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha in a bowl to prepare the Bang Bang sauce.
  6. Toss the fried shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve the shrimp topped with green onions for garnish.

Notes

For extra crunch, allow coated shrimp to sit before frying. Can be made gluten-free by substituting the flour and cornstarch.
