A delightful dessert combining caramelized bananas with a soft, buttery cobbler topping, perfect for any occasion.

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt 1/4 cup of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Add the sliced bananas, rum, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bananas are caramelized. Remove from heat.
  4. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt for the cobbler topping in a separate bowl.
  5. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  6. Pour the banana mixture into a greased baking dish, then dollop the cobbler topping over the bananas.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
