  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir in the mashed bananas, then add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Make the brown butter frosting by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  6. Mix the brown butter with powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  7. Frost the cooled brownies with the brown butter frosting, cut into squares, and enjoy!
