Delicious bites of water chestnuts wrapped in crispy bacon, glazed with a sweet and tangy sauce. Perfect appetizer for any party!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 ounce) water chestnuts
  • 1 pound center cut bacon
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Drain the water chestnuts and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. Cut the bacon slices into thirds.
  4. Wrap a piece of bacon around each water chestnut, securing it with a toothpick.
  5. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  6. Arrange the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the bacon starts to crisp up.
  8. Combine ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  9. Spoon the sauce over each bacon-wrapped water chestnut.
  10. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes until caramelized and crispy.
  11. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using turkey bacon. Soak toothpicks in water to prevent burning during cooking.
