A fun twist on classic comfort food, combining the flavors of a cheeseburger with crispy tater tots.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Additional toppings like pickles or diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add ground beef and onion to the skillet, cooking until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  4. Combine cooked beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup in a large bowl. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optional garnishes include pickles or diced tomatoes. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, add garlic powder or onion powder to the meat mixture. For a spicy kick, include diced jalapeños or hot sauce.
