Ingredients

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 12 teaspoons local raw honey (to taste)
  • 1/2 lemon (juiced)
  • 1/2 inch fresh turmeric (diced, or 1/2 tsp turmeric powder)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger (diced, or 1/2 tsp ginger powder)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil the water in your kettle or on the stovetop.
  2. Prepare the fresh ginger and turmeric by dicing about half an inch of each root.
  3. Combine the diced ginger, diced turmeric, and cinnamon in a heatproof teapot or jar.
  4. Pour the boiling water over the ingredients and let steep for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the juice of half a lemon and stir in honey to taste.
  6. Spice it up with a pinch of black pepper for added health benefits.
  7. Serve and enjoy the warm aroma and soothing flavors.

Notes
