A quick and delicious recipe for crispy Chicken Parmesan made in the air fryer, perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken by cutting each breast horizontally to create thinner cutlets.
  2. Pat dry the pieces with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare the egg wash by beating the egg with water in a small bowl.
  4. Mix the Panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes in a shallow dish.
  5. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip in egg wash, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Air fry the breaded chicken for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  8. Add marinara sauce and mozzarella on top of the cooked chicken.
  9. Finish cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  10. Serve hot with pasta or crusty bread.

Notes

For a lighter version, use less cheese or serve with a side salad.
