  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and crushed peppermint candies if using.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden, with slightly underbaked centers.
  8. Cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
