  • 1/2 cup coating (e.g., breadcrumbs, crushed cornflakes, or seasoned flour)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat oil in a skillet if frying.
  2. Combine cottage cheese with salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Form the cottage cheese mixture into small tots or balls.
  4. Roll each tot in your chosen coating until evenly covered.
  5. Bake the tots on a baking sheet for 15-20 minutes until golden, or fry in hot oil until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes).
  6. Serve warm, with dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

For creamier texture, use whole-milk cottage cheese. Try different coatings and seasonings for variety.
