A delightful twist on classic brownies, combining the bold flavors of Turkish coffee with rich chocolate for a memorable dessert experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground Turkish coffee
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or pistachios (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, coffee, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing gently until combined.
  6. If desired, fold in walnuts or pistachios.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
