  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle each cookie dough ball with a pinch of coarse sea salt.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week.
