A healthier twist on classic banana bread that is sugar-free and made with wholesome ingredients, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (if not strict sugar-free)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour or almond flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, applesauce, honey (if using), and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Sprinkle in the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, and stir until just combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour into the banana mixture, folding gently.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze individual slices for up to 3 months.
