Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package of gelatin (optional, for added firmness)
  • 1/2 cup water (for gelatin)
  • Extra strawberries for topping

Instructions

  1. Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the vanilla extract.
  2. Puree the sliced strawberries until smooth, and if using gelatin, dissolve it in warm water and mix into the strawberry puree.
  3. Combine the whipped cream and strawberry puree by folding them together gently.
  4. Chill the mixture in serving dishes for at least 120 minutes to set fully.
  5. Create a vibrant strawberry sauce by blending additional strawberries, warming if desired.
  6. Serve the mousse topped with strawberry sauce and extra strawberry slices.

Notes

For a lighter mousse, ensure the heavy cream is cold before whipping. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
