A delightful pastry featuring buttery, flaky puff pastry enveloping a creamy filling and topped with fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, for egg wash
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  3. Mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a generous spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry rectangle.
  5. Top each cream cheese mixture with sliced strawberries.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket.
  7. Brush the tops of your pastry pockets with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow the Strawberry Danishes to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

Pair with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
