Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in your maple syrup, vanilla extract, and egg; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

  9. Drizzle or spread the icing over the cooled cookies.
