A creamy, rich seafood bisque featuring shrimp and crab that evokes the essence of seaside dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • 1 pound crab meat, fresh or canned
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup carrot, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups seafood stock or broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (such as parsley or chives) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, celery, and carrot, sautéing until soft.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the shrimp and crab meat, cooking until the shrimp turns pink.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce, adjusting seasoning.
  7. Simmer for a few more minutes until thickened slightly.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread and a green salad for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
