Simple yet exquisite shortbread cookies that melt in your mouth, perfect for tea time or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes
