  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or raisins (optional)
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting (optional for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Whisk together the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the rolled dough.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly into a log and slice into 1-inch rolls.
  8. Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish.
  9. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
  11. Frost with cream cheese frosting if desired before serving.

Notes

Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
