A comforting dish of meatballs baked in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, uncooked rice, chopped onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a large mixing bowl and mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them in a baking dish.
  4. Prepare the sauce by mixing the tomato sauce and water in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs evenly.
  6. Bake covered with aluminum foil for 1 hour.
  7. Serve hot over a bed of rice.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days and freeze well.
