Delightfully chewy and gooey squares made from marshmallows and puffed rice cereal, these Rice Krispie Treats are a nostalgic childhood favorite.

Ingredients

  • 45 grams unsalted butter, melted
  • 285 grams marshmallows
  • 150 grams puffed rice cereal

Instructions

  1. Coat a 33 x 23 cm rectangular pan evenly with non-stick spray and set aside.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat the melted butter gently.
  3. Add the marshmallows to the bowl and stir to combine with butter.
  4. Microwave the mixture for 45 seconds, remove and stir thoroughly. Repeat until smooth.
  5. Add the puffed rice cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until uniformly coated.
  6. Distribute the mixture into the prepared pan, pressing firmly into an even layer.

Notes

To prevent sticking, coat your hands or spatula with butter or non-stick spray when pressing the mixture into the pan.
