A comforting and simple recipe for classic banana bread, perfect for snacks, breakfasts, or desserts.

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  5. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the flour until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.

Notes

For maximum sweetness, ensure bananas are overripe and speckled brown. Can add nuts or chocolate chips for variations.
