A comforting cake made with applesauce, cinnamon, and nutmeg, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix together the applesauce, sugar, and oil until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan before serving.
