Delightful Mystic Flour Cookies that are soft on the inside with a golden edge, perfect for sharing or savoring alone.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: chocolate chips or nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy creaming. Use parchment paper for even baking.
