A delightful and moist orange sheet cake infused with fresh orange juice and zest, topped with a tangy glaze.

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons orange juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a sheet cake pan.
  2. Creaming together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the fresh orange juice and orange zest.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Mix together the powdered sugar and orange juice for the glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and serve.
