An indulgent cake layered with luscious salted caramel and topped with fluffy whipped cream, perfect for celebrations.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Incorporate the vanilla extract into the mixture.
  5. Blend the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients with the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks.
  10. Prepare the frosting by beating together heavy cream, powdered sugar, and salt until stiff peaks form.
  11. Assemble the cake with salted caramel sauce between the layers and on top.
  12. Frost the sides of the cake with whipped cream.
  13. Drizzle additional salted caramel over the top before serving.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and chill the whipped cream if it becomes too runny.
