Festive cookies resembling leprechaun hats, filled with chocolatey goodness and colorful candy melts, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • Green candy melts
  • Pretzel twists
  • Chocolate frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Flatten the cookie balls slightly and create an indentation in the center of each.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until set and edges look firm.
  8. Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Melt the green candy melts according to the package instructions and dip each pretzel twist halfway into it.
  10. Pipe chocolate frosting into the center of each cookie and attach the dipped pretzel twist to create the hat design.
