Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking tray.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Scoop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Top with sprinkles or decorative sugar before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are tender. Let cool before serving.
