Delightfully rich and chocolatey squares that are gluten-free, perfect for celebrating love on Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional toppings: dairy-free chocolate chips, fresh berries, coconut whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, honey (or maple syrup), eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Place in the oven and let bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares and serve with your choice of toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for about a week.
