  • Water, oil, and eggs as directed on the cake mix box
  • 1 cup of butter, softened
  • 4 cups of powdered sugar
  • 34 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles or decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Prepare the cake batter as instructed on the box.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased heart-shaped baking pan or mini cake pans. Bake according to the time specified for the cake size.
  3. Allow cakes to cool completely in the pans before proceeding.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing until combined. Stir in the red food coloring to get that vibrant Valentine’s hue!
  5. Once the cakes are cooled, carefully remove them from the pans and place them on your serving plate.
