A delightful pie combining sweet pears with rich caramel, all in a flaky crust. Perfect for cozy gatherings.

  • 45 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar and cook until golden and bubbly.
  3. Add heavy cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the saucepan, stirring until smooth.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced pears with half of the caramel sauce, tossing to coat.
  5. Place the pie crust in a pie dish and fill it with the caramel-coated pears.
  6. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the pears.
  7. Brush the edges of the pie crust with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden and the pears are tender.
  9. Let the pie cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Best served warm; pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
