A cherished recipe for authentic German meatballs, combining ground beef and pork with savory seasonings for a heartwarming meal.

  • 500g ground beef
  • 100g ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine your meat mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, paprika, mustard, and fresh parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are fully blended.
  2. Shape into patties: Take handfuls of the meat mixture and shape them into small patties or balls.
  3. Heat the oil: In a frying pan, heat a generous amount of oil over medium heat.
  4. Fry to perfection: Carefully place the patties into the hot oil and let them fry for about 5-6 minutes on each side.
  5. Serve hot: Once cooked, serve the frikadellen hot with your favorite condiments or sides.

Notes

These meatballs can also be baked at 200°C (400°F) for 20 minutes as an alternative to frying.
