Hearty Unstuffed Ground Beef Cabbage Roll Casserole

A comforting casserole delivering all the flavors of classic cabbage rolls without the fuss of rolling.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until it’s nice and crumbled.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Incorporate the chopped cabbage, cooking until it begins to soften (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, cooked rice, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well and bring to a simmer.
  5. Simmer covered on low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Pairs well with crusty bread or a side salad. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and frozen for up to 3 months.
