Delicious heart-shaped red velvet cupcakes with a rich cream cheese frosting, perfect for any celebration.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a heart-shaped cupcake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the buttermilk, food coloring, and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Gently stir in the vinegar.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting.
