A comforting dish of ground beef and pasta in a rich tomato sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (any type)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta according to package instructions. Once al dente, drain it well and set aside, letting the steam escape so it doesn’t become gummy.
  2. Brown the beef in a large skillet with a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat until caramelized, draining any excess fat.
  3. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic with the browned beef until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Simmer the mixture with diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for about 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, stirring until well mixed.
  6. Serve hot, topped generously with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a lighter dish, substitute half the ground beef with lean turkey or lentils for a vegetarian option.
