Warm, sweet sandwiches filled with creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberries, perfect for dessert or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices brioche or challah bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for frying
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup strawberry preserves or jam
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until completely smooth and fluffy.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over four slices of bread, leaving a small border. Layer with thinly sliced strawberries and top each with strawberry preserves. Place the remaining bread slices on top and press gently to seal.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and whole milk until fully blended.
  4. Carefully dip each assembled sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
  5. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place coated sandwiches in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Remove sandwiches to paper towels to absorb excess butter.
  7. Dust sandwiches with powdered sugar, cut diagonally, and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Use stale bread for better frying and texture. Adjust sweetness based on preference.
