A comforting and easy-to-make French Toast Casserole perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

  • 1 loaf of bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter (for greasing)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and evenly place in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, soaking all the pieces.
  5. Let the casserole sit for at least 30 minutes, or cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  7. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

For best results, prepare the casserole the night before to soak overnight. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
