A delightful twist on a classic Italian dessert, bringing the rich, creamy flavor of eggnog into a smooth panna cotta, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Nutmeg (for garnish)
  • Caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. Combine eggnog, cream, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until it just begins to simmer (do not boil).
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until it completely dissolves.
  4. Pour the mixture into individual serving glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes, or until set.
  5. Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of nutmeg, and a drizzle of caramel sauce before serving.
