A comforting dish of meatballs made with ground beef and rice, simmered in a delicious tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, uncooked rice, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape about a handful of the mixture into meatballs, each about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Prepare the tomato sauce and water in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir to mix.
  4. Add the shaped meatballs into the skillet as the sauce starts to simmer.
  5. Simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the rice is tender.
  6. Serve the meatballs hot with sauce over the top.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding Italian herbs or cheese to the meatball mixture. These meatballs can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
