These fudgy brownies are a simple, decadent treat perfect for any occasion, evoking memories of home and comfort.

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  3. Combine the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract into the melted butter until smooth.
  4. Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Bring the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually, stirring until no flour streaks remain.
  6. Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
  8. Cool the brownies in the pan for several minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
