A hearty and customizable chili recipe made in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a crock pot, combine the browned meat, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and broth.
  3. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or on high for 180-240 minutes.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy!

Top your chili with shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro for added flavor. Pair it with crusty bread or tortilla chips.
