Light and airy Gruyere cheese popovers that are easy to make and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a popover pan or muffin tin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, and salt until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until evenly mixed.
  4. Add the shredded Gruyere cheese and mix until combined.
  5. Fill the prepared pan about halfway with the batter.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with fresh herbs or herbed butter.

Notes

To avoid soggy bottoms, ensure the pan is well greased and the oven is hot. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
