Delight in these hand-held desserts that combine creamy cheesecake with sweet strawberries, all wrapped in a crispy dough.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup finely chopped strawberries
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 package refrigerated pie-style dough or biscuit dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Oil for frying
  • Optional: Powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped strawberries, granulated sugar, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Roll the dough slightly thinner if needed and cut into circles or squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of cheesecake filling in the center of each dough piece, top with strawberry filling, brush edges with egg, and seal.
  5. Fry the pies until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels; dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.
  7. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot enough before frying and don’t overcrowd the pan. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
