A delicious and easy treat combining sweet and salty flavors, perfect for holiday gatherings and gift giving.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 4 cups crackers (such as saltines or graham crackers)
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup M&M’s or holiday candies (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a Crock Pot, melt the butter on low heat.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar and corn syrup, mixing until combined.
  3. Add the crackers and nuts (if using), carefully coating them in the mixture.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 120 minutes, stirring every 30 minutes.
  5. After 2 hours, spread the mixture onto a lined baking sheet.
  6. While still warm, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the mixture and let them melt.
  7. Once melted, spread the chocolate evenly.
  8. Sprinkle M&M’s or holiday candies on top.
  9. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces and serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature or freeze for up to a month.
