A comforting one-pot meal featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich, creamy sauce served over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Season the chicken. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  4. Brown the chicken. Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet, cooking until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
  5. Pour in the broth. Pour in the chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Stir in the cream. Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream, allowing the mixture to meld together beautifully.
  7. Add the rice. Add the rice into the skillet and stir gently to combine. Cover the skillet and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is fluffy and the chicken is cooked through.
  8. Serve hot. Serve hot, and enjoy your creamy smothered chicken and rice!
