A simple and flavorful slow-cooked cranberry chicken dish, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup creamy French dressing
  • 15 oz. can whole cranberry sauce, divided
  • 1 oz. packet Lipton onion soup mix

Instructions

  1. Layer the Chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts evenly in the slow cooker base to create a single layer.
  2. Pour the Dressing: Pour the entire cup of creamy French dressing over the chicken breasts.
  3. Season with Onion Soup Mix: Evenly sprinkle the Lipton onion soup mix on top of the dressing-covered chicken.
  4. Spread the Cranberry Sauce: Spread HALF of the can of whole cranberry sauce over the mixture in the slow cooker.
  5. Set the Slow Cooker: Cover and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  6. Absorb Excess Grease: Once cooking is complete, carefully lay paper towels over the surface of the sauce in the slow cooker to absorb excess grease.
  7. Final Touches: Decide whether to serve the chicken breasts whole or shredded and top with the remaining half of the cranberry sauce.

Notes

For added depth of flavor, marinate the chicken in the dressing and soup mix overnight before cooking. Leftovers can be used in sandwiches or salads.
