A rich and velvety chocolate mousse cake filling that’s easy to make and elevates any dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof bowl, melt the chopped chocolate over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, resembling soft, fluffy clouds.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt until fluffy.
  4. Gradually fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture until well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the whipped cream until no streaks remain.
  6. Use immediately as a filling or frosting, or refrigerate for later use.

Notes

Chill your bowls for fluffier whipped cream and use high-quality chocolate for better flavor. Adjust flavors with espresso or orange liqueur if desired.
