A quick and easy recipe for stir-fried green beans inspired by local Chinese buffets, featuring a savory sauce that brings nostalgia and flavor to your meal.

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans: Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the trimmed green beans. Cook for 3-4 minutes, then plunge into ice water.
  2. Heat the skillet: Warm sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
  3. Sauté the garlic: Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the blanched green beans: Toss them around gently in the skillet with the garlic.
  5. Add the sauces: Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey (or sugar) and mix well.
  6. Cook until coated: Stir for another 3-5 minutes until the beans are well-coated and heated through.
  7. Season to taste: Sprinkle in salt and pepper, adjusting to your preference.
  8. Serve and garnish: Transfer to a serving dish and optionally sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Notes
