  • 1 large heirloom tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if you wish to warm the focaccia before assembling the sandwich.
  2. Slice the focaccia horizontally to create a top and bottom half for the sandwich.
  3. Drizzle the inside of both halves of focaccia with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper for flavor.
  4. Place the bottom half of the focaccia on a baking sheet.
  5. Tear the burrata cheese into portions and place it evenly on the bottom half of the focaccia.
  6. Layer the fresh heirloom tomato slices on top of the burrata.
  7. Add the fresh basil leaves, spreading them out over the tomatoes.
  8. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the basil and tomatoes, adjusting the amount according to your taste preference.
  9. Gently place the top half of the focaccia over the assembled ingredients.
  10. If desired, place the sandwich in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes until the focaccia is warm and slightly crispy.
