Delicious homemade brownies with a perfect chewy and fudgy texture, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab an 8×8” pan. Line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
  2. Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter in a small saucepan or in the microwave until bubbly and fragrant.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with 1 cup of granulated sugar, stirring until the mixture becomes glossy and smooth.
  4. Add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to your sugar-butter mixture. Whisk vigorously until everything is combined and creamy.
  5. Sift in 1/3 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir ever-so-gently until just combined—you don’t want to overmix!
  6. Fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips for a delightful, gooey surprise in every bite.
  7. Pour this luscious brownie batter into your lined pan and smooth the top with a spatula, ensuring it spreads evenly.
  8. Bake in your preheated oven for 22–28 minutes. The edges will start to pull away from the pan, and the center should look set but still a little soft.
  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan.

Notes

Letting the brownies cool completely will ensure they hold their shape when slicing and will enhance the flavor.
